Alright, I just want to leave this here. This is the approximate take home pay by hourly wage, assuming your tax rate is 25% and you are working 40 hours a week. I started at the current Federal minimum wage, and will end at 15.25 an hour. This is not a rant against taxes, social security or anything like that, just a breakdown of the numbers, and it should be pretty clear why the minimum wage is nothing more than slave pay.
7.25 = 290 = 217.50
8.25 = 330 = 247.50
9.25 = 370 = 277.50
10.25 = 410 = 307.5
11.25 = 450 = 337.50
12.25 = 490 = 367.50
13.25 = 530 = 397.50
14.25 = 570 = 427.50
15.25 = 610 = 457.50
Now, just how far can one go in life on between 217.50 and 457.50 a week in the US?
