So, I am
sitting here, after watching my vaunted Steelers choke in the
overtime period of their game against the Bears, of which I have
several thoughts. First, and most important in my mind is to say a
hearty “Well played, and congratulations on the win.” to the
Bears players (as if they would ever read this), and too their fans,
“Your team showed up to play, and got the job done.” I like to
get that out of the way, because good sportsmanship comes with being
a gracious winner, and while I personally don't like seeing my teams
loose, it comes with being a big enough person to congratulate the
winners, even if we don't like it. Now, I am about to do something I
really don't like doing, the game is over, we fought the good fight
and we lost, but the season is still young, and I observed something
that has really bothered me.

The Deed is Done.
My part in this circus side show is
done. I walked to the polling place, I presented my photo ID, and I
cast my vote, little good I believe it will do.

Where to go now?
So, Brussels was burning, might even still be burning, with all the conservatives crowing about their victory, telling liberals to eat crow, it was not high on my list of interests. It should have been. You see, the country has taken a conservative turn, and the middle class, poor, and elderly are angry about it. Not the kind of angry we appear to get here, where we rant on Facebook or blogs. Not the kind of angry were you write an angry letter, or leave a heated voice mail on the phone. Like so many European countries, they get angry like Bruce Banner. And we should not like Bruce when he gets angry, he grows to ten foot tall, turns green, and becomes the Hulk. And Hulk likes to smash things.

Welcome to the new America.
CNN has called it. The Senate now belongs to the Grand
Ole Party. As of this moment the GOP has
52 senators, and now we get to look forward to even more dysfunction in the
Congress, and representatives whom we elected to represent us, representing big
business, big oil, big religion, and the ultra-rich.

Marketing and Politics
This time last year I was working an a BS degree in psychology. Along the way, we discussed various aspects of the subject, as any well rounded college education should. But one thing that was not discussed was how marketing plays a role in more than just a consumer market.

Nascar
Ah, the sound of car engines running at Daytona, the signal for the new NASCAR season is about to begin. Pictured above is the #3, last piloted at the Daytona 500 in 2001 by the late Dale Earnhardt. This go around it will be piloted by Austin Dillon, grandson of Richard Childress, owner for the late Dale Earnhardt. I mention this for several reasons...

An Introduction. What I am about.
Good day everyone, I thought it best to start a new blog with a little
information about myself. I am an on again, off again blogger. I
never did quite apply myself to any one thing for any length of time. I
find it surprising that I managed to get out of college with Bachelor’s Degrees
in three fields, but in my pathetic nature, I applied myself as much as was
required, which afforded me a good overall GPA, but something that most would
consider lackluster for me.
