Long Day

So yesterday was a long day.  Odds and ends stuff being done, sat down to write another plan.  Sadly while many people seem to like the plan, it keeps getting shot down.  That's fine, I feel that plans, no matter how futile they are should be created, put forward, and shot down.  If you don't try, nothing ever changes for the better.

The war on the poor... Again

Sometimes it is really hard to get on here, stand on my soap box, and talk.  I think what I say has merit, some others of like mind feel that what I say has merit, but really with Facebook wanting money to promote pages and posts, and having limited access to other forms of social media, it makes it hard.  But here I am, ever a bull, always with my head down, pushing forward.  If I retreat I will age prematurely, if I stop altogether I will surely die a thousand deaths, and be remembered for none of them.

The War on The War on Poverty part 2

Here is part two of the report on the War on Poverty, according to Paul Ryan.  Wait, wasn't he married to 7 of 9 on Voyager?  Wasn't there some kind of sex scandal...  I forgot how good looking his ex-wife is.  Wait, wrong Ryan.  Damn all these Republicans act and look the same.

20 Things the Poor Really Do Every Day (plus my take)

This comes from Bill Irwin via the Huffington Post 20 Things Poor People Really Do

While Mr. Irwin speaks from a third party view, he speaks as someone that has witnessed homelessness, and living in poverty, I am speaking from a first person perspective.

Social Safety nets and the story

Shared Via The Richardson Family Charity (http://ricahrdsoncharity.webs.com/apps/blog/)

It has been asked recently, why do the Richardson's and their son don't go to the welfare office.  There are safety nets in place to ensure people like the Richardson family do not spend their lives living in a tent.  Their son, does not have any children, therefore he does not qualify for social aid.  Mr. and Ms. Richardson earn too much money. See the problem is that social welfare is based on your income, and how many children you have.  So when you have no children, or income beyond a specific point, you do not get aid.  You fall through the holes of social aid.  Sure Mr. Richardson has his social security; he has his retirements from his previous employment, but that income places him outside of the range for other social programs.

3 years later...

Yay, I quit smoking.  I moved around a bit.  I saw Covid19 and survived.  I even got vaccinated for it, and outside of some really weird dr...
