NODAPL

I didn't want to get into it. Wanted to just give some support, some likes and shares on Facebook, but I wanted to keep my thoughts about it to myself. Congratulations, law enforcement and government officials in Standing Rock, you have well surpassed the line on acceptable behavior. You have finally, after all the crap being pulled on protesters, you have finally crossed the lowest line I have ever seen crossed in the US, that didn't result in fatalities. Oh and the media, you people, heh... Why are you in the media being so quiet?

Burying the Hatchet. Not right now we won't.

I have noticed a prevailing trend as of late, something in the wind starting to gather some steam. Some liberals are starting to say that liberals in general need to reconcile over the events of the last several decades, well more specifically the primary and election season that just ended. Hey, this is pretty good. The same group that told Sanders supporters to get over the primary, and due their duty are now crying that we must bury the hatchet, after months of insults, and being bullied, we must get over it all in the blink of an eye and we must bury the hatchet.

Dead Eyes revisited

I know, I know. I really haven't been around as much as I should since my Dad passed away. Years of being homeless, his death, struggling to survive, and just trying to get the ship righted has left me dealing with a lot of issues. Yeah, there have been a lot of helping hands, a lot of well wishes, people who would give until they had nothing left, but they have nothing to give. Yet even as I write this, even as I look back at the carnage of the last decade, I don't see it getting better.

Autopsy - Down Ballot Races

I didn't really want to get into this, but I have to. You see, any autopsy of the Clinton campaign is bound to discuss why the Democratic Party didn't have a good grasp on the Senate, and test the House. That was after all a major push for those who wouldn't vote for Clinton, the desire to see at least the Senate or the House come under Democratic Party control. Well, not the House, that is pretty much lost until 2020, but there was a strong push to weaken the GOP control over it.

Autopsy - The Blame Game

This is a rather difficult aspect of the Clinton Campaign autopsy to get into. This difficulty is not based on anything more than the sheer number of scapegoats that are being pointed at, while failing to acknowledge that there were always problems.

Autopsy - Current Summery

To be sure there will be more of these posts as things start to settle down. People like me also have a ton of work to do, trying to help people come to terms with Trump, and a GOP controlled government, who will do all the things we stand against. Really, if you think that Trump winning was the worst, let me tell you all something, we have to fight tooth and nail, all of us to see that things are not undone. If you want to place blame on people who voted third party, or failed to vote, then you need to sit down and really think about everything that happened in this election.

Autopsy - Moving Forward

The Democratic Party needs to start re-positioning itself, or trends like this will continue. Clinton managed to pull out a lead in the popular vote, yet she lost ground in several key states that President Obama had flipped in 2012. The fact is, the Democratic Party needs to find itself, and with a crop of potential candidates moving forward, it is time to move forward and have a changing of the guards. Rather than blame everyone else because they lost, you know third party voters, the FBI, Russian hackers, the DNC needs to own this, they need to realize that votes are not owed to their candidate. They need to step back and really look at the final picture of this election. They put forth, via super-delegates a candidate that did not inspire people, who had problems getting a hundred people gathered at a campaign stop. The top of the ticket itself was a rehash of neo-liberal and friendly conservatism. The choice to go with yet another neo-liberal at the top of the ticket harmed the down ballot races. Creating a scenario where the GOP was given control of the Senate, on top of the control they already had within the House of Representatives.

Autopsy Ideological Purity

Now, I have heard people complaining about ideological purity tests, and that those in the progressive wing of politics have taken way too far. Yet, they forget that we came out for Obama, Kerry, and in part Gore over the last 16 years, only to be soundly ignored by Obama.

Autopsy II, Likability and Trustworthiness

Continuing the trend of trustworthiness and likability. Clinton has battled these issues most of her career. Little half truths followed by “misstatements” or lies. Trying to hide the truth of things that happened, or comments made ultimately harmed her potential presidency more than anything else.

Clinton Campaign Autopsy

This is going to take several posts over the next week or so, to try and explain all the ins and outs of how a candidate who appeared to have complete control of the presidential election, completely flopped in the final hours of voting across the nation.

Can't wait for this to end...

I cannot wait for Wednesday morning to come. Its like Christmas, really it is, and I'm not even Christian. Will Santa bring me the gifts I asked for in a poorly written letter, or will I get a lump of coal. For what its worth, it is apt to be a lump of coal, because Santa really is a prick (just look at the historical characters he is based on).

Why Trump, Indeed.

So, at this time, Trump is apparently gaining in the polls. Trump somehow managed to win his parties primary while being openly racist, and sexist. And people are scratching their heads as to why?

Why not Trump?

I have had a few people ask me why I don't rip on Trump like I rip on Clinton over the last few weeks.

3 years later...

Yay, I quit smoking.  I moved around a bit.  I saw Covid19 and survived.  I even got vaccinated for it, and outside of some really weird dr...
